Packaging Illustrations

Managing the Design of Disney Food and Beverage Souvenir Packaging

PROJECT OVERVIEW
managing AND DESIGNING tasty, print-ready PACKAGING illustration
For several consecutive years, my team and I were contracted by Disney Food and Beverage to create illustrations for Disney Food and Beverage. The illustrations were for use on popcorn buckets, hot/cold mugs, food bags, and popcorn boxes sold in Disney's theme parks, water parks, and resorts.

Imagining how the characters enjoy the World of Color show that is filled with fountains and water projection screens.

storytelling financial results
Through our work and visual storytelling, we helped create illustrated magical souvenirs, and helped pad Disney's bottom line. While I am unable to confirm the positive financial impact the designs had on Disney, I estimate these items produce sales of $100m annually.

This page is a sampling of images I illustrated over that time while managing the entire project, which could include up to 24 different storytelling illustrations for each yearly refresh.

How might the characters enjoy a Halloween party? Spooky, but not too spooky. Donald sneaks a peek and the chipmunks, aptly dressed, see an opportunity.

Not only does the image have to be fun, but Disney has safety standards. The characters must be role models for the guests and follow attraction rules.
